Living Waters
is a program for the improvement of life in drought stricken countries of Africa, through the provision of fresh drinking water. Imagine how difficult your daily life would be if you did not have clean, fresh water, but had to walk miles to an unclean water supply, and then carry it on your back home.
With every dollar received for the Living Waters program, Africa On Fire, can provide life sustaining water to a village for their entire lifetime. $5000.00 - $15,000* will supply a well and fresh water for an entire community.
Your donation is used to purchase well drilling equipment, water pipes & fittings; cement, sand & gravel to build water collection, treatment & storage tanks, for each well.
Project implementation means drilling a bore-hole and installing hand-pumps at a planted church, in remote, isolated villages. There are thousands of places and scores of communities and churches that would be willing and competent to receive this support.
*$5000.00 is an estimated price. Price varies from location to location and can cost as much as $15,000 or more.
Consider The Facts
Consider these sobering facts as reported by the World Health Organization and other United Nations agencies:
- More than one billion people worldwide have no access to safe drinking water (that's four times the U.S. population).
- More than 2.5 billion people worldwide have no access to adequate sanitation facilities.
- More than 8,000 children die every day (nearly one child every 10 seconds) from illness linked to substandard water supply and waste disposal in poor countries. Nearly all of this illness is preventable.
- Improvements in water supply and sanitation reduce infant mortality by an average of 55%.
These are alarming statistics.
The twenty-first century is upon us and still one of every six persons on earth faces a daily, life threatening challenge -
the challenge of finding water fit to drink.
Women and children walk for hours to lug home small amounts of untreated water.
Children are suffering repeated bouts with intestinal parasites that stunt their development or kill them.
Families are being denied the precious gift of water
because no one wants to supply the funding to drill a well or to buy some water pipe or a few sturdy handpumps.
AOF Missions Inc.(AOF) seeks to draw attention to this problem and help do something about it.
Through the provision of clean drinking water, AOF strives to improve the quality of life for rural inhabitants in the less developed countries of Africa where needs arise. The needy can begin to lead healthier, more productive lives by possessing the most powerful and effective public health tool ever known - clean water.
As a non-profit organization we believe that it's a basic human right to drink safe water. And together we can help insure this right by financing drinking water and sanitation projects in the small rural communities most often overlooked by missions agrncies and churches motavated by "numbers" as well as large-scale development organizations.
This Project means drilling boreholes (wells) and installing handpumps at a church in an isolated village and/or laying water pipe. There are thousands of places and scores of villagers through out Africa that are in need of this support.
We also purchase water-filtering systems for those areas that have unsafe water.
We also purchase equipment and containers to take water to those areas that we do not yet have wells.
But this does not come without a price. Are you willing to pay the price? The price is your prayers, possibly going with us to deliver the water filters or to put these wells in. For the price of a daily cup of coffee, or soda, you can provide precious, life giving water to these villages.

Lifewater International's mission is to provide water resource development information, training, equipment and technical support to the rural poor.
We teach the development and maintenance of safe drinking water supplies and sanitation facilities.
Those we train become themselves a resource to others as they help their neighbors obtain safe water.
